For about 9 months I have tried to disconnect my Foxtel service. We were paying $80 a month, which we can afford, but we just didn’t feel we were getting the value out of it. We don’t watch a lot of TV and Mina was watching entirely too much television (and it was always easier to let her watch TV when I had work to do!).
So, about 9 months ago, IÂ rang to disconnect Foxtel. The guy then offered me the same package for $55 for 3 months. So, I thought that that was ok and signed on. Then, when it returned to $80, I rang to disconnect it again. Because we have been Foxtel customers for 3 years, he said we should suspend it for 3 months instead.
Today, with the 3 month suspension up, I rang again to disconnect. This time, he offered me our package for $40 for 3 months.
ARGH!
I know I don’t HAVE to sign up and can just say “No” but I think that half price is pretty good value. Jase will be pissed that I am so easily talked around by salespeople, but meh. I take after my grandmother, who, despite being a staunch Roman Catholic, buys the Jehovah’s witness magazines “just to be nice”.
Anyway, it’s funny how Foxtel REALLY don’t want to lose their customers and yes, I’m a gullible, gullible woman. But hey, I get Foxtel cheap.
(I wonder if I can claim it as a work related expense given that it supervises my child when I am working… hahahaha)
