Blah Blah Blah…

Ahhh life with a precocious 4 year old child…

Yesterday at the Child Health Nurse (which I will be blogging soon — an experience in itself), the nurse kept referring to me as Tia. Having dealt with that my whole life, I don’t bother correcting anyone anymore unless I am going to have ongoing contact with them(and, after yesterdays experience I will not be going back).

As we were walking out, Mina said loudly (spelled phonetically for effect), “Mum, why does that lady keep calling you Tia? Your name is Taya!”

I could’ve died.

Then, today after I picked her up from daycare, we were having a laugh in the car and I was gently teasing her about her ‘boyfriend’, to which she replied, “Blah blah blah, my name is Téa”

As you can imagine, I busted a vein in my neck from the laughter whilst simultaneously trying to concentrate on the road.

And also, on a sentimental note, there is nothing like walking out to your loungeroom to see your 4 year old daughter and 5 month old son interacting like old friends. I never thought that having 2 kids would be so magical — and I never ever imagined that Mina would be the sister that she is. Save for the odd head slap and upside down dummy, or the being-lifted-up-even-though-she-is-14kg-and-he-is-8.5kg-and-this-is-just-pointless…
