It’s the thought that counts…

Mina asked me for her textas and crayons this morning. I keep them up on my desk, because, after the 50th packet went AWOL somewhere in the 4 year old’s room of mystery and adventure (Read: pigsty that I refuse to clean), I have decided that she needs a gatekeeper of all things art. So, she asked me for a piece of paper, and asked me to fold it in half like a book. I did it, handed her her stuff and she went and sat at the coffee table to draw.

“Mum, can you show me how to write Jules?”

I wrote it on a piece of paper for her to copy. A few minutes later:

“Mum, can you show me how you write your name?”

I wrote it for her.

She sat there, singing to herself, drawing and talking to Jules, and after about 10 minutes, she walked up to me, beaming, saying “This is for you Mum. Its the most special Mother’s Day card ever!”

She had written me a card with “To Téa, Mina Jules” and a love heart on it, with a picture of a person on the front.

I asked her who that was, and she said:

“That’s you Mum, in the nude, walking around the house.”

haha.
